| At Under the Yew Botanicals, one of our main goals is education. We employ many forms of education , lectures and courses, publications, research, and more. We hope to increase the knowledge of herbs that each person has, and therefore strengthen the connection of people and plants worldwide. Here's a brief synopsis of each of our educational formats. See the links below to get more information about each project. - From April through November of each year we conduct our Northwest Medicinal Herb Work-Study Program. Click Here for more info on the Work-Study Program. - Throughout the year Under the Yew collaborates with Cascadia Food Not Lawns to form The Institute of Contemporary Ethnobotany - connecting people, plants, place. The Institute of Contemporary Ethnobotany, or ICE as we like to call it, conducts lectures and seminars nationwide and is currently conducting research on orchidaceae (orchid family) mimicry in Ecuador. We are currently in the beginning phases of researching numerous Northwest natives with potential for cultivation as a sustainability measure.
